The Project
Started: January 2024
Duration: 8 weeks, worked behind construction workers adding new seating to all theaters in the building. Working and communicating with the staff to accommodate them as best as we can.
Celebration Cinema wallpaper removal and painting of hallways, upstairs office space and main lobby. Here at CertaPro Painters of Grand Rapids, we know how important it is to create a good first impression with the customer. The project below shows our process of a full interior wallpaper removal and repaint of a large commercial building in Grand Rapids, MI.
This Celebration Cinema location is a large multi-cinema theater. It has been around for over 20 years. The wallpaper in all areas was outdated and peeling on most sections of the main lobby. The hallways and upstairs were in similar shape. When our Commercial team arrived, we did a full assessment of the lobby, hallways and office area. The team at CertaPro Painters of Grand Rapids are experienced in commercial projects, and have the tools, equipment and crews to handle commercial projects of any size!
Challenges and Conditions
Due to the height of the lobby, a large lift was required for most of the project. The peeling wallpaper left a lot of glue on the walls so there was a lot of unforeseen skimming needed to get the walls ready to paint. Our CertaPro team worked long days in order to make up for lost time. Thankfully the wallpaper was easy to pull off. Since the movie theater was staying opened during renovations our team needed to frequently clean areas to keep customers from any possible hazards.

- Painting all door frames
The Final Result
After completion we completed our pride walk and made sure we didn’t miss anything during the project to ensure satisfaction to our customer. The failing, outdated wallpaper has been refreshed into a brand new paint job!
