Footbridge Restoration: A Spring Break Refresh
The team at CertaPro Painters® of The West Valley, AZ was called on by Phoenix Country Day School to repair and refresh their campus footbridges during the school’s spring break. The bridges are not only essential for navigating the campus but also serve as a defining feature of the school’s landscape. Frequently featured in photos, these footbridges contribute to the aesthetic charm of the grounds while providing necessary pathways for students, staff, and visitors. Given their prominent placement and size, they are visible from many locations around campus, making their upkeep important for both functionality and visual appeal.
Scope of the Project:
The project took place at Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley, AZ, during March 2025. Over a span of three days, three footbridges on the school’s campus were repainted as part of a maintenance effort carried out over spring break. The bridges’ iron surfaces had become dull, and the paint on the concrete was significantly faded, necessitating restoration.
Special Techniques:
The project involved a series of surface preparation steps, including sanding, scraping, and power washing, before applying fresh paint. A Loxon primer was used as part of the painting process, which is designed to seal masonry and provide a durable and uniform finish. The result was a revitalized appearance for the bridges, enhancing both their durability and aesthetic appeal.
Project Timeline:
This project was completed in three days.
