About the Project
In October 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Fairfax and Prince William completed an extensive exterior painting project at Cannon Park Warehouse in Manassas, Virginia. This mixed-use light industrial facility, home to multiple businesses, had not been repainted in over 14 years, leaving its CMU Block, Split-Faced Block, and Glazed Tile surfaces looking dull, faded, and weathered. Cracks and discoloration further aged the building, making a refresh long overdue.
Commercial Church Project Details
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
The six-week project involved power-washing and painting the exterior, including main doors, garage bay doors, and door frames. To efficiently execute the project, the team stored nearly 200 gallons of paint in a rented storage pod and used a 45-foot boom lift to reach and prep the upper sections of the building. After testing a few color mockups, a slight color change was selected, modernizing the facility’s look. The end result was a dramatic transformation, with a cleaner, more polished appearance that revitalized the warehouse and gave it a like-new finish.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
The glazed tile facades posed a challenge due to their slick surface, requiring a specialty bonding primer to ensure proper adhesion before applying the topcoats. This extra step was crucial for achieving a durable and long-lasting finish.
Additionally, weather conditions were a concern, as the project took place in October, leaving a limited window before temperatures dropped too low for painting. To stay on schedule, our team worked extended hours, including most weekends, ensuring the project was completed on time while maintaining the highest quality standards.
