Commercial Painting Project
A church in Fairfax, VA was looking to refresh the interior of their 5,000+ square foot chapel. They also wanted to update specific designated surfaces for a more aesthetically pleasing look for management, staff, and patrons as part of a full renovation of the chapel while it was closed during COVID.
About the Project
This project included coordination to ensure that the church services to both staff and patrons were not disrupted. We supported the facility operations by completing the tasks at specified dates and times. The project included coordination, communication, safety measures, equipment preparation, cleaning, application techniques and processes, and the use of the top rated industrial-grade coatings and materials from Sherwin Williams.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
The chapel was to be completely renovated including painting all components as well as installing new carpeting after painting was to be completed. The chapel required repairs to damaged drywall seams, nail holes, nail pops, as well as the caulking of open seams in the trim. The church was looking for a paint refresh (color match) as the chapel had not been painted in over 10 years.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES
The project required the repair and replacement of several drywall seams in elevated areas (ceilings), along with the caulking of gaps in the trim throughout the chapel. This included places in elevated areas as well as areas with intricate trim, such as around the altar. The commercial painting project required the use of ladders and scaffolding to efficiently and safely access elevated areas.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project only took one week to complete.
