About the Project
This is an upscale continuing care retirement community that consists of five large apartment buildings, an assisted living facility, nursing facility, and community center for Veterans. The building had not been cleaned or painted since it was built over 20 years ago. Our team was called out to give this facility in Sterling, VA a much needed makeover. Commercial Case Study – Sterling, VA
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
This project involved power wash cleaning, caulking, and painting of all EIFS and Stucco surfaces. It also included painting downspouts to match the color scheme of the buildings, and painting concrete mezzanine levels with a specialty product to help with self cleaning. This product helps minimize mold and mildew on flat surfaces as well.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
This project had several special pieces of lift equipment that was needed to safely access all areas of the building, while minimizing damage to the surrounding landscaping due to the hilly terrain. We used 100′ atrium lifts to safely access all areas of the apartment buildings.
The project required several different types of lift equipment. This equipment included standard boom lifts and atrium lifts for tall access areas.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was phased out over the course of five years.
