Commercial Church Project Details
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
This project first involved pressure washing the steeple to remove years of dirt and grime. It also involved scraping and sanding all of the loose and peeling paint on the steeple, and then spot priming the bare surfaces in order to get the substrate ready to paint. There were also a few carpentry repairs where we had to replace some rotted trim with new wood.
PRIOR CONDITION:
The steeple had not been painted in many years and the surface had quite a bit of peeling and chipping paint. It also needed to be pressure washed first to remove the years of dirt and buildup.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
The biggest challenge of this project was getting access to the steeple due to how high it was in the air, and due to the pitch of the roof below. There was no good way of getting to the steeple by ladders, so we ended up having to us a 135 foot atrium lift in order to access all sides of the steeple. We also had to make sure to protect the Church grounds from where the atrium lift was parked, and we used ground mats to make sure to not cause any damage.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:
This project required the use of a specialized 135 foot atrium lift in order to fully access and paint the steeple. This lift is designed with leg stabilizers in order to be operational on unstable ground, and includes multiple pivot points in order to maneuver around the steeple.
