Religious Facility - Commercial Interior Painting
CertaPro Painters® of Fairfax and Prince William
About the Project
This religious facility located in Fairfax, Viriginia was looking to refresh the condition and look of their chapel and vestibule for a more aesthetically pleasing look for management, staff, and patrons. The project involved professional and timely coordination to ensure the chapel’s services to both staff and patrons were not disrupted for the duration of the project. We supported the facility operations by coordinating with on-site management to complete the tasks at the pre-determined dates and time, so that the facility could continue to operate smoothly before, during and after the project.
Our goal was to deliver the customer service and results envisioned by property management and the chapel. In so doing, we provided the services, craftsmanship, and technical expertise needed to achieve the desired outcome, reconditioned the paintable surfaces, and restored their protective properties.
Commercial Case Study – Fairfax, VA
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
The project involved re-painting/refreshing the existing color palette on the walls, ceiling and trim of the chapel and vestibule while also refreshing the look and appearance of the iron railing system in the stairwell leading to the vestibule.
- Prep – We paid attention to the details to ensure all surfaces were properly prepared (“paint-ready”) prior to paint application.
- Repair – This included performing Level-3 Professional preparation to all surrounding surfaces ie. addressing all nail pops/holes, damaged drywall (including wall scuffs), repairing cracks and tape seams, re-caulking open seams around trim, and spot priming bare surfaces/repair work so as to ensure a uniform finish of the top coat of paint.
- Paint – CertaPro Painters® only uses the highest-quality Sherwin Williams paint including:
- ProMar 200 Zero VOC Interior Latex in an eggshell finish for the walls and a semi-gloss finish for the trim
- ProMar Ceiling Paint in a flat finish for the ceilings.
- Pro Industrial Direct-to-Metal (DTM) Acrylic in a semi-gloss finish for the iron railing systems.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
The project was completed safely and efficiently. It did require the use of ladders and lift equipment to efficiently and safely access elevated areas (particularly the elevated ceilings) as well as difficult and challenging painting areas. In addition, to properly access the chapel ceiling, we coordinated with property management and properly/respectfully moved chapel pews as applicable. Due to the operational hours of the chapel and regularly scheduled obligations weekly, we coordinated with property management to ensure access to the project while also following through with completing the project within a week staying on schedule so as not to disrupt services on the weekends. Overall, we delivered on the expectations envisioned by chapel staff and management and delivered extraordinary results.
