In June 2025, our team was entrusted with the interior refresh of a historic church in Leslieville, Toronto. With only five days to complete the project, the timeline was tight—but the transformation was dramatic.
The 15,000-square-foot space, filled with towering ceilings, stained glass windows, and ornate radiators, hadn’t been painted in over two decades. By the end of the week, the church was brighter, more welcoming, and visually elevated, ready to serve its congregation with a renewed sense of warmth and reverence.
Project Scope
The project involved repainting over 15,000 square feet of wall space and 1,000 square feet of ceilings.
The original creamy tone was updated to a lighter, more contemporary color, dramatically brightening the interior while complementing the church’s dark wood beams and architectural details. A golden accent wall was added behind the altar to serve as a focal point, bringing a subtle yet elegant contrast.
In addition to painting, we performed minor concrete repairs and repainted more than 40 radiators positioned near pews and along the perimeter walls.
Special Techniques
With such a large and ornate space, the project required strategic planning and careful execution.
Accessing high areas and the altar required the use of two scaffolding systems, while painting around stained glass demanded careful material selection and extra attention to detail. Several pews were temporarily removed to access tight spaces behind the radiators and along the lower walls.
