Challenges

The challenge of this project was finding durable products that we could use on the fire escapes. We consulted with Sherwin Williams to identify the best coatings for the metal.

CONDITIONS

The fire escapes were in rough condition. The paint on them was faded, deteriorating, and failing.

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

    • Preparation – This project involved sanding and scraping all of the old paint and rust off of the fire escapes. Once that was completed, we applied an oil-based Procryl primer.
    • Painting – After priming the area, we used two finish coats of Shercryl to help make the fire escapes look like new!
