Commercial Case Study
Uptain Building
Project Overview
In September and October of 2022, CertaPro Painters® of Chattanooga, TN painted the nearly 50-year-old Uptain Building. This involved pressure washing the old stucco exterior, caulking the windows, and giving the outdated building a fresh color scheme.
Prep and Equipment
Built in 1975, the original Uptain Building exterior was faded and dirty from years of wear and tear. In order to start painting, the surface had to be cleaned by pressure washing, and the numerous windows were given fresh caulking. Furthermore, two lifts were required to reach the full height of the exterior walls. Before painting began, windows were masked to completely protect from overspray.
Challenges
The Uptain Building houses many office spaces, so throughout this project the parking lot was always full of vehicles. Cleanliness and professionalism are vital to every job we do and this project was no different. Great caution was exercised as we painted the building, preventing any overspray from reaching the workers’ vehicles below. The height of the walls required the use of lifts for our painters to reach. Two lifts and two crews coordinated throughout the project to work efficiently and safely.
The Finished Product
From start to finish we communicated with the customer, ensuring we were working toward their updated vision for the building. With the customer’s color scheme in mind, we executed the plan with care and professionalism. The result is a modern look that demonstrates the pride we put into our craft. And most importantly, the customer is very pleased with the end result.
