Prep Work

First and foremost, the side of the garage needed to be pressure washed. A considerable amount of dirt and grime had accumulated over the years that would need to be addressed before we could apply a single stroke of paint.

Challenges

The great heights and narrow spaces adjacent to the garage meant that rolling in a lift was out of the question. Instead, we had our team rappel down the side of the structure with their equipment, for both the pressure washing and painting stages of the project. In order to ensure this process was as safe as possible for our team, we rented a separate machine to park at the top of the garage and attach their lines to – one that had “bomb-proof” anchor points and a back-up anchor point in case the primary point were to fail.

To minimize the time that our team would need to spend rappelling up and down the garage, we chose an all-in-one paint and primer to apply once the pressure washing was completed.
