The Citadel Commercial Painting Project

The Client:

Known as “The Military College of South Carolina”, The Citadel is a public institution founded in 1842. Their 300-acre campus consists of stunning historic architecture with lush athletic fields.

The Client Challenge:

The stadium underwent major reconstruction to the east side (visitors’ side) in 2019. The client also wanted to address the rusted stadium gates and worn handrails. The client had two options, capital expenditure to reconstruct or deferring capital expenditure through professional painting services.

The CertaPro Solution:

CertaPro inspected the metal structures and found the structural integrity to be intact. With proper preparation and the use of industrial coatings we could ensure the proper removal of corrosion and extend the useful life of the gates and rails.

We started with the removal of corrosion and wear. Carefully using machinery specific techniques, our team began the removal of rust, grime, and smoothed out any rough edges. Following the prep work, all metal surfaces where primed and top coated.

The Success and Result:

The results look amazing and inviting to stadium guests. More importantly, we extended the useful life of the metal components and deferred any capital expenditures in these areas for many years.  Painting isn’t our only purpose; our mission is to protect and beautify.
