The Client:

Nestled in the heart of Daniel Island Community, Center Park Townhomes is a residential development home to 70+ families. Built in 2001, these single-family townhomes boast brick, iron, and millwork, giving it a classic feel.

The Client Challenge:

Originally hired for exterior trim, CertaPro was asked to inspected wrought iron handrails, ultimately identifying corrasion and rust. Due to the nature of a coastal environment, iron and metals can show signs of wear prematurely and require maintenance or even replacing. The cost to replace all iron was greater than $100,000 leading the HOA to search for an alternative solution.

CertaPro Solution:

The CertaPro team provided an alternative option, identifying that 95% of the units were reparable. The solution consisted of sanding machinery removing all corrosion followed by a rust conversion agent, oil primer, followed by 2 final coats of industrial oil-based enamel.

The Result:

With our in-depth analysis we were able to save the HOA over $50,000 in capital expenditures, give an upgraded look for future and current homeowners, protect the structure and defer costly solutions. Our results rejuvenate the iron’s curb appeal and protect it from weather and wear.
