University of North Carolina – Craige Parking Deck

Objective: The University of North Carolina collaborated with the Ackland Art Museum to paint a mural on the side of the Craige Parking Deck. They had the mural drawn and dimensioned via computer rendering by an artist out of London and needed a professional painting company who had the skill and detail to carefully outline each of the shapes and then paint them on the side of the parking deck.

Solution: Our team had a 50-foot long swing stage installed so that we could access the side of the Parking Deck given that there was no way to access by ladder or ground lifts. Our team then used a combination of stencils and tape to carefully outline the shapes. Lastly, we were able to prime and paint the colorful shapes on to the walls.

Outcome: The Craige Parking deck now displays a colorful mural that can be seen by all who pass by on Manning Drive in Chapel Hill.
