Serving The Local Youth Of Raleigh

Posted on November 2, 2023

CertaPro Painters® of Cary-Apex, NC and sponsor, Sherwin Williams, came together to serve the overwhelming needs of local youth on Monday, September 19th, 2023. Raleigh is home to 476,587 people with approximately 95,000 youth. The statistics suggest that Raleigh has more youth than some cities have in total population. Because of the high number of youths, Raleigh has a greater responsibility each year than most. The Boys and Girls Club of Wake County was created to serve the needs of Raleigh’s growing youth population. They execute a full service to Raleigh’s youth year-round. This year, the facilities used to serve local youth needed major maintenance and updates. What many people do not know about the club is that it relies solely on donations. The club functions using financial donations as well as donated labor. As you can probably guess this makes updates to facilities complicated. The Boys and Girls Club needed professional assistance.

CertaPro Painters® of Cary-Apex, NC took on the challenge. They donated skilled labor to meet the need. CertaPro refreshed the exterior paint of the Boys Club building and the interior paint of the Girls Club building and performed a handful of repairs. These tasks were personally handled by the administrative staff and 1 painting crew. All work was free of charge.

In addition, Sherwin Williams, one of CertaPro’s long-lasting partners, donated scuff-resistant paint to extend the lifetime of the facility’s walls. CertaPro applied the paint to the interior rooms with the most traffic.

Frank DeLeon, Vice President, said, “The youth of Raleigh deserve high-quality facilities to learn, play, and grow in. We are honored to help with whatever we can. My hope is that we can continue to do so and inspire others to do the same.”

Here is some information about the Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls Club has been helping Wake County youth reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens for over 50 years. They operate 7 neighborhood clubs across Wake County including a Teen Center dedicated to building the next generation of leaders. They rely solely on donations from community patrons and organizations. Families can join the club so that their kids can enjoy the facilities and programs.
