Emergency Response Facility Paint Restoration in Calgary, Alberta
In November 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Calgary & Central Alberta completed a three-day restoration project at AHS Stone Gate EMS. The facility, responsible for emergency medical services and patient transport, required the repair and repainting of rusted metal handrails, staircases, and bollards both inside and outside the building. Our experts restored the worn handrails and bollards with expert rust removal, priming, and high-durability paint. The project enhanced both safety and aesthetics, ensuring long-lasting protection for this essential emergency services building.
CONDITIONS AND CHALLENGES:
When the project began, the metal staircases and handrails showed significant rust damage and chipped paint. This project was completed late in the exterior project season, with low temperatures providing a challenge in the paint-application process. Given the extent of the rust, meticulous surface preparation was crucial. Using angle grinders and mechanical grinding, the team removed rust before applying a protective primer.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
Our team used Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl® Primer, a rust-inhibitive coating designed for long-term protection. The project was finished with Latitude Exterior Acrylic Latex in Safety Yellow and Black, chosen for its durability, moisture resistance, and ability to be applied in colder temperatures. Despite late-season conditions, our CertaPro professionals successfully delivered a high-quality, long-lasting finish, ensuring the facility’s safety and aesthetics were restored.
