This 62,000 sqft retail building containing a busy Old Navy and a defunct Bed, Bath and Beyond sits in the heart of Fort Collins within clear sight of the main thoroughfare. Our painters refreshed the exterior in just 10 days. You can learn more about the details of this project below.
About the Project:
The North side of this building receives no sunlight and was having issues with moisture retention in the brick, ultimately causing issues on the interior of the building resulting in paint failure. To address this issue, multiple steps were taken. First, the substrate was power-washed followed by a masonry sealant, primer, then three cycles of scraping the brick followed by a coat of paint each time. The South side of the building was coated first in the masonry sealant then paint. The East and West sides of the building as well as all metal substrates were painted. There was a full color change including a band of black along most of the roofline. The client chose to take advantage of our free color consultation resulting in a refreshingly modern color palette that undoubtedly increased the property values of the buildings in the immediate vicinity.
Project Involvement:
This project involved light carpentry, power-washing, sealant, primer and paint.
Special Challenges:
Due to the height of the building, a lift was required as well as ladders on the North side of the building where the ground was not suitable for the lift. Roof access was necessary. Also, the multi-step moisture barrier on the North side of the building detailed earlier.

Other Details:
The Old Navy maintained regular business hours with steady foot traffic and our crew was able to complete the project with very little disruption to the business.
