Distribution Warehouse Painting Project in Boulder, Colorado
This commercial distribution warehouse is over 60,000 sq. ft. and is located in the heart of the Boulder industrial district in a highly visible location at the corner of Pearl Parkway and Foothills Parkway. The building houses a retail factory store, corporate offices, and a distribution warehouse.

CHALLENGES:The building had extensive sun and UV exposure at over 5,000 ft. elevation and had not been coated in a number of years.
The building had metal siding that had experienced extensive coating oxidation. There was also rust on the lower portions of siding as well as the exterior staircases and overhead dock doors.
CONDITIONS:
- All surfaces were extremely chalky due to the paint degradation.
- Colors had faded from the original gray siding and brown trim.
- The building has metal siding that had experienced extensive
coating oxidation.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
- Paint – Preparation and painting of the exterior of the building.
- Branded – Adding a company brand color gold accent stripe on the building.
PROJECT TIMELINE
Started: September 2017
Duration: 2 weeks
Completion of project took less than 2 weeks, well ahead of schedule. The customer wanted as short of a production time frame since it is an active facility with high trucking and delivery usage, as well as a retail storefront area.
BEFORE PHOTOS
Before the project began we did an assessment of the building. A number of issues were found including extensive sun and UV exposure at over 5,000 ft. elevation that had not been coated in a number of years. The building has metal siding that had experienced extensive coating oxidation. There was also rust on the lower portions of siding as well as the exterior staircases and overhead dock doors.
WORK IN PROGRESS
Due to the large size of the building and its difficult to reach surfaces, we utilized a 45’ boom lift with articulating jib for safety purposes. This allowed the crew ability to apply a higher quality brand color accent stripe, meticulous masking of signage, etc.
THE FINAL RESULTS
After completion we walked around the building to ensure every paint job was covered for the building. All concerns that were noted at the beginning of the project were addressed. The once failing surfaces look brand new again.
