This building is the large gymnasium of a private pre-k through 8th grade school in Boulder, Colorado.The gymnasium had not been painted in many years and was dirty, weathered and worn. Our crews painted the entire interior of the gymnasium including walls, ceiling, steel beams, pipes, posts and etc which served to brighten the appearance of the entire space. Project Involvement:
The project involved a heavy amount of preparation in order to protect different elements of the gymnasium. The entire surface area of the floor had to be covered in rosin paper to protect from paint drips as they painted the ceiling. In addition, the flooring manufacturer had to be contacted to determine the weight tolerance of the flooring so that plywood of the appropriate thickness could be laid down to ensure appropriate weight dispersion under the scissor lift.
Our paint crews also had to mask off an intricate speaker system, lights, a sprinkler system, all basketball equipment suspended from the ceiling as well as removing flags from the walls and re-hanging them once dry. The gymnasium was painted over the course of a month with daily communication between our production team, paint crew and the facility managers. Our team handled every aspect of the project including the research needed to protect the flooring.
Special Challenges:
Because of the high ceilings and highly intricate surfaces that needed to be painted, a scissor lift was utilized with the paint crews harnessed for safety.
Project Timeline:
This project was completed in June of 2022. The painting service took four weeks to finish.
