1. Prep Your Surface – Depending on the age and amount of dirt on your hardie plank you may just need a quick rinse with a hose. Other siding may need a slight pressure wash to remove any grime, dirt, and debris that has accumulated. Once it’s clean you can wipe it down with a cloth to dry it and remove anything remaining on the surface.

4. Apply correctly and let dry – It’s very important to apply the paint correctly and in nice even layers. Without even layers, the thickness or thinness will have an effect on how long the new paint lasts. You’ll want the investment of your new paint to last as long as possible.
5. Check Your Warranty – Your hardie plank might have come with a warranty and depending on the age of your siding if might still be in effect. Sometimes, you can choose a paint that also comes with a warranty as well. Your hardie plank material warranty should stay in place regardless if you repaint.
