Winter Home Projects to Boost Home Value

Posted on December 20, 2019

With all of the outdoor activities on hold, the winter months often leave us with some extra time on our hands. This is the perfect opportunity to complete indoor painting projects, especially if you are considering putting your house on the market in the near future.

If this is the case or you are just looking to spruce up your home, then keep on reading for some ideas!

Update the Laundry Room

Laundry rooms tend to be very dull even in the most extravagant of houses. Having an aesthetically pleasing laundry room can really set your home apart and break the idea that laundry rooms must be dingy, boring, and dark.

Add shelves for functionality, decorative baskets to store detergent and other laundry essentials in, and add a decorative rug. Also, adding wallpaper to the laundry room will completely change the look and vibe of the space while avoiding a messy painting project.

A lot of sales happen throughout December and January so keep your eye out for any washers and dryers to go on sale if yours are outdated.

Change the Cabinet Hardware/Repaint Cabinets

Such a simple but effective upgrade. New hardware on cabinets can create a much more modern and polished look. All you need is a screwdriver and a couple of hours of your time. If you want to go the extra mile you should consider repainting or refinishing your kitchen cabinets. It costs MUCH less than replacing them and it’s a great way to make a dramatic change to the look of your kitchen. For homes that are about to go on the market swapping out a dated wood grain look for a splash of color might be just the thing to close the deal.

Replace the Faucets

Change up the look of your sinks by swapping out that old faucet for a newer, nicer version. Just be sure to do your research on how to replace your faucet before diving into this project.

Create more Kitchen Storage

People never seem to have enough storage in the kitchen. The more storage, the more desirable the home. You can turn a wall in your kitchen into a pegboard that allows you to hang pots pans, etc. They sell these boards in a variety of different styles so you can choose which one best suits your kitchen.
