Homeowners in 2020 and 2021 have been undergoing many home renovation projects, including kitchen and bathroom remodeling. In one of the most important rooms to renovate, the kitchen, cabinets occupy the largest visual area. In other spaces, like living rooms or game rooms, cabinets are also a large focal point. Find out in this post how painting your cabinetry is an easy way to transform the rooms in your home without remodeling the entire space.

How do you know if repainting your cabinets is the right choice for your home? In this post, we are going to go over all you need to know about painting your cabinets. And how CertaPro Bartlett helps clients easily modernize their homes.

Thinking About Repainting Your Cabinets?

The first thing to consider before doing any work on your cabinetry is its condition. Cabinets that are in good shape and don’t have many defects are the perfect candidates for repainting. Ones that are very old, worn, have extreme wear and tear or have several layers of preexisting paint might not be the best candidates. Certa Pro specialists can bring even old cabinets new life and will be able to go over this during your consultation.

What is the process?

After a brief assessment of the cabinetry condition, our professionals will do a color consult that will match your preferred taste and the style of the home to the new cabinet color you choose. After the perfect color selection, we will schedule the services. Your job will be to remove all items from the interior cupboards and do a quick clean.

When our professionals arrive, they will start by prepping the space. They make sure to completely cover countertops, flooring, furniture, and any appliances or electronics with protective layers. Then, they will remove the cabinet doors and hardware. Once they are all removed, they sand and prep the surfaces to make them ready for painting. After everything is ready, it’s time to paint! They will start with the doors and then move on to the wall-mounted sections. After the paint sets, dries, and cures, the doors, and hardware are reassembled creating a stunning final result and brand new look. To learn more about this service, click here.

How Long Does It Take?

Typically, repainting cabinets can take on average five days. The size of the kitchen can make the timeline a little longer or shorter respectively.

What are trends in cabinet color?

Recently, we have seen dual cabinetry colors. The top cabinets are painted a light color and the bottom cabinets are painted a complementary dark color. We have also seen darker colors utilized throughout the kitchen. Many trends indicate that natural wooden cabinets are refreshed with paint in a neutral color.

What to expect?

From start to finish CertaPro specialists will make sure that this process is as quick and seamless as possible. You can expect that for about five days your cabinets will be inoperable and in progress. After they are reinstalled, keep the doors open, and wait a day or two before putting all your things back inside. After that, you can return your home back to normal and with a whole new look!

Due to the large visual area and high use, it is important to hire a professional for your cabinet repainting project. CertaPro Barlett also performs other types of cabinet painting for your home improvement project including bookcases, wainscoting, entertainment centers, and vanities.
