Concrete Stains – Choosing Colors for Outside
Posted on July 6, 2022
It’s summertime!! You’re probably looking forward to making the most of your outdoor spaces. Did you know that adding a coat of paint, or concrete stain to use the technical term, to your run-down patio slab can actually help keep you cool? In addition to lowering the temperature, it can also warm up the vibes of the space to keep you lounging outside summer night after summer night.
If you’ve already added a rug to your outdoor space in an attempt to make it homier, you may have noticed that the concrete that isn’t covered is a bit of a buzzkill. If your concrete is blotchy from water stains, green or brown from plant stains, damaged, or just boring, painting a coat of concrete stain is a great way to refresh the space. Because it’s applied to horizontal surfaces, concrete stain is not like normal paint. It’s waterborne and washable and can be tinted any color. If you’re looking for a fresh start, consider painting your concrete back to its original cement gray. Or spice it up with a cool, trendy teal. In addition to aesthetics, painting concrete stain adds a protective layer to your patio and can help it last longer.
Additionally, Cool Feel Color technology is a great way to manage the temperature in your sunniest patio spots. This technology absorbs less heat and reflects more heat away than other paint. With less heat trapped, your flooring will feel cooler to the touch. This technology is only available in certain colors though, so check out H&C Cool Feel Sherwin Williams Color Palette.
