2022’s Featured House Paint Colors

Each year brings new trends and colors when it comes to paint color selection. Here in the Atlanta area a few popular trends from 2021 have carried over, but we expect to see at least a few new colors emerge this year as popular contenders on house painting projects.

Very Peri – (Pantone 17-3938)

Starting our list is the Pantone’s 2022 color of the year with ‘Very Peri’. The color offers a new hue, this is a new shade of blue with hints of purple and Violette that make a striking impression. The color is modern and bright, and would work well for both interior and exterior house painting projects.

Very Peri works for active interior spaces like home offices and living rooms, the color also stands out well and works great for accent walls or areas where you are working to drive color differentiation in the room.

Benjamin Moore – Deep River (Deep River 1582)

Deep river offers a classic and popular shade of gray that looks great on home exteriors. Deep River could be used as a main exterior color or as an accent color to accompany a white exterior. Last year we did a lot of white exteriors in the Anaheim area, and customers are often looking fir just the right accompanying shade for trim, door frames, and shutters. Deep River works perfectly as a modern accent to white exteriors which are common in Georgia.

For interiors, Deep River and similar grays offer a great option for accent walls.

Sherwin Williams – Evergreen Fog (SW 9130)

Evergreen Fog is the Sherwin Williams color of the year for 2022. Its a modern, light shade of green that offers a calm natural look and feel. The color works for just about any interior room including offices, bedrooms, kitchens, and hallways. Evergreen Fog’s versatility and overall likability make it a good candidate for prepping a home for re-sale.

Evergreen Fog pairs well with white, gray, brown, and gold tones. It looks great with white crown molding on interiors, and also for painted stucco exteriors looking to differentiate from the neighborhood without making too much of a bold statement.

HGTV Sherwin Williams – Aleutian (HGSW3355)

Aleutian is the HGTV Sherwin Williams 2022 Color of the year. It is a soft blue that looks great on both interior and exterior surfaces. Aleutian pairs well with white trim and molding, and is an excellent choice for interior spaces like bathrooms and bedrooms.

The color is described as a ‘perfectly balanced washed indigo that sets a restful tone‘. It is grounded in both warm and cool tones, making it an excellent color for spaces where you want to relax or wind down.
