Hospital Painting Project in Atlanta, GA

Situated in the heart of downtown Atlanta, St. Jude’s Recovery Center has served patients suffering with the twin challenges of addiction and mental health disorders since 1962.

Early in 2017, St. Jude’s contracted CertaPro Painters® of Atlanta/Decatur to conduct a thorough cleaning and repainting of the duct work in one if its newer buildings. Pleased with the results, facility manager Andrea M. quickly expanded the scope of work to include a full repaint of the center’s offices, as well as the hallways, common areas and sleeping quarters of its residential building.

Apart from the scheduling challenges posed by operating at a live-in facility with 24-hour service, much of the work was fairly routine. However, the facade of one of the older buildings did require significant repairs.

Riddled with hairline cracks, the building’s hard-coat siding was a perfect candidate for stucco patches and an elastomeric coating. The job required the use of a 65′ boom lift, which in turn called for the closure of downtown streets, a detailed traffic plan, extensive permit approvals and signage, as well as off-duty police for traffic control. We handled everything.

Initially concerned that the stucco patches might be visible upon completion, facility manager Andrea M. commended the workers on a “great job” blending the repairs.

“Consistent pricing, good scheduling coordination, and full onsite project management” were a few of the top reasons Andrea cited when describing her satisfaction with our work. When asked whether she would work with us again, she didn’t hesitate: “Yes!”
