Private Residence in Buckhead Atlanta, GA
Set amid the leafy neighborhoods of Atlanta’s desirable Buckhead district, the customer’s large, six-bedroom home was built in the 1950s and renovated in the 1990s. More recent improvements involved converting the first-floor living area to an open concept and installing new hardwood floors throughout. But a final issue needed to be address to bring the house up to peak condition: the interior surfaces were showing significant wear, including extensive cracking, damaged drywall, and an abundance of nail holes that needed filling and finishing.
The two-phase project kicked off in January and finished in March. First, the CertaPro Painters® of Atlanta/Decatur project crew prepped all the surfaces by repairing cracks, patching damanged drywall and replacing sagging drywall tape, as well as leveling nail holes and addressing nail “pop-outs.” The scope of work included the first-floor foyer, a stairwell and landing, a formal sitting room and children’s play room, as well as kitchen and dining areas. Once the prep work was finished, all surfaces were given two coats of premium-grade Sherwin-Williams paints, including eco-friendly Promar® 200 zero-VOC coatings.
While our onsite project manager described the overall project as “fairly straightforward,” there were a few notable challenges. One was controlling dust from the drywall work, which required sectioning off prep areas with plastic sheeting, covering sensitive furnishings like carpets, and cleaning thoroughly once the job was finished. The other was working diligently to take good care of those new hardwood floors.
The customer had worked with us in the past and was pleased with the results this time around. They were especially impressed with the “consistency and accountability” shown by our project team.
