Home Office in Ann Arbor – Painting Project

When homeowners in Ann Arbor decided to update a study/home office to give it a modern look they chose CertaPro Painters® of Ann Arbor to make it happen. The existing area was dated and dark with woodgrain staining that made the room feel small. The plan was to make the room bright and inviting from the floor to the ceiling.

With a coffered ceiling done in matching wood and wood grain paneling running floor to ceiling, the project required a complete top to bottom approach. In order to repaint the ceiling, it was decided to spray the existing woodwork rather than brush paint it.

As always the majority of the work was in the preparation, in this case, it involved sanding many shelves, cabinet doors, and whole sections of paneled wall. In order to get the surface just right for painting the sanding was followed by a primer coat and a finish coat.

The results are dramatic as the room was transformed from a dark, dated clubby feel to a more open and bright look that still boasts all of its details.
