What was the problem?

This residential home was in need of some updates. The aluminum siding was chipping and showing wear and peeling from years of being exposed to the elements. The color also looked dated and needed to be changed to improve the home’s curb appeal.

What was the solution?

The CertaPro team pressure washed, spot sanded, prepped, primed and painted all the siding, and trim. With guidance from the local sales representative at Sherwin-Williams, the team used a product called PrimeRx to prepare the aluminum siding for paint and help combat the surface variations due to the heavy peeling that had been present in many areas on this home.

Afterwards, we applied two coats of Duration paint, as not only does it provide a mildew-resistant coating, it also provides excellent hide and coverage. We chose to use flat paint because lower sheen also helps to hide surface imperfections as found after extensive peeling.

The siding was painted with Sherwin-Williams Duration – Flat finish in SW6250 “Granite Peak” to provide a sleeker, more modern appearance.

The trim was Sherwin-Williams, SW7005 Pure White, Duration Satin.

What was the result?

The home now has a more modern look and the client was thrilled with the work. They said, “I appreciate you bending over backwards and helping me out on this. I’ve already had compliments from two of my neighbors.”
