The exterior of a 100-year-old home in Ann Arbor, MI.

What was the problem?

The southern0facing side of the home needed to be repaired. The paint was peeling and faded where it back been exposed to the sun, wind, and winter elements.

What was the solution?

The CertaPro team prepped and painted the siding, fascia, and window trim. We recommended that the client choose Sherwin-Williams Duration, as it is self-priming and provides a mildew-resistant coating, which was perfect for this scenario. Duration often only needs one coat unless it is a new or repaired work surface, therefore allowing us to finish the project quickly and with less expense. We chose flat because it is classic and matched the rest of the home (lower sheen also helps to hide surface imperfections as found on many older homes).

Painting Details

The siding was painted with Sherwin-Williams Duration – Flat in SW6207 “Retreat” to match the rest of the home.

The window trim was custom matched by our local Sherwin-Williams store to the existing red trim the homeowner had elsewhere, also in Duration Flat finish.
