I was born and raised in Lebanon, MO where I played a multitude of sports and developed a love for the outdoors. Upon graduating from high school, I joined the Air Force Reserves and was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, MO. There I served as an A-10 hydraulics mechanic. While in the reserves, I also attended the University of Missouri – Columbia.
After earning my degree in business marketing and psychology, I had a desire for a greater challenge and to serve my country. I applied and was selected for the Marine Corps Officer Candidate Program. Upon completion of officer training, I was stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC and served as the 2d Marine Logistics Group Budget Officer managing over $50 million in Operations and Maintenance funding. In 2011, I voluntarily took a deployment where I was the fiscal officer in charge in the stability operations section in Helmand Province, Afghanistan managing humanitarian and construction projects totaling over $70 million. For my actions, I was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. After returning home, I was assigned to Bloomington, Indiana as the Marine Corps Officer Selection Officer. I was responsible for recruiting, screening and preparing college students and graduates for the rigors of Marine Corps Officer Candidate School. I still currently serve as a Captain in the Marine Corps reserves.
I chose to return to Missouri because it is home for me and where my family lives. The skills and leadership I acquired from the Marine Corps are what I intend to use to operate my business. CertaPro Painters was a perfect fit for me as it provides the right professional environment and culture, a culture that focuses on taking pride in your work and giving back to the community in which we are a part of.
