Oil based primers are recommend when you have or need one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Block stains<\/li>\n<li>Faster drying times<\/li>\n<li>Seal out water sensitive stains<\/li>\n<li>Dried water stains<\/li>\n<li>Smoke stains and related odors<\/li>\n<li>Grease or oil stains<\/li>\n<li>Ink stains<\/li>\n<li>Pencil stains<\/li>\n<li>Crayon marks<\/li>\n<li>Nicotine staining<\/li>\n<li>Wood tanning bleed (resin knots)<\/li>\n<li>Previously stained surfaced<\/li>\n<li>Soot stains<\/li>\n<li>Paraffin staining<\/li>\n<li>Previously wallpapered surfaces<\/li>\n<li>And under certain circumstances, rooms with strong odors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uqPVR2baKd0?start=2\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Oil-based primers are excellent options for sealing tannin bleed from redwood and cedar, along with sealing wood surfaces containing knots. We highly recommend priming walls with oil-based primers prior to painting rooms that were previously wallpapered.
