To ensure the best possible results and make the painting process go as smoothly as possible, there are a number of quick and easy steps that you, the homeowner, can take beforehand. Check out the list below so that you’re all set when our crews arrive:<\/p>\n

What to do before painting your house<\/h1>\n

Know your final color choices.<\/h2>\n

It is important you have a final decision for your paint colors before the crew arrives. If possible, we ask that you email the list of colors you wish to use to our office one week prior to the scheduled start date. This way, we can save time and hit the ground running on painting day by having your color lineup all set to go.<\/p>\n

\"Brick<\/p>\n

Trim back plants<\/h2>\n

On any area of your house that we’re going to be painting, we need a least 8-10 inches behind plants.\u00a0 Hedges up against the house should be thinned so we can work around them. This is both to make the job easier for our crew and to avoid damage to your plants.<\/p>\n

Have a Clear Working Area<\/h2>\n

Items such as bikes, hoses, garden implements, decorative objects, planters, and sporting goods, and balcony furniture must be removed prior to the start of the job. We’ll take care of any patio or deck furniture when we arrive.<\/p>\n

\"Power<\/p>\n

Prep for Power Washing<\/h2>\n

All windows and doors should be closed and securely fastened to prevent water from leaking into your home.\u00a0 After the power wash, there will be water spots on the windows – this is unavoidable and sometimes tricky to spot during the job. Such stains are easily cleaned, but we ask that you hold off on doing so (or on hiring anyone to do so) during the project so that there is no interference with our team’s work.<\/p>\n

Have a Good Plan for your Pets<\/h2>\n

For the safety of your pets and our workers, pets cannot be left loose in the yard while our team is at work.\u00a0 In the process of covering walkways, landscaping, etc., gates may need to remain open for our crews to do the job right, so plan to have your pets inside the house while crews are present.<\/p>\n

\"Crew<\/p>\n

Painted Doors (and Sometimes Certain Windows) Need to be Left Open<\/h2>\n

On days that doors or windows are to be painted, they should be left open to allow our crews full access. You will be able to close them before going to bed.\u00a0 Your Job Foreman will work with you to schedule the best time for this to be done; we prefer a day when someone can be home by 3:30pm or 4:00pm. We cannot stay late if you are not home at the time our crew finishes for the day.<\/p>\n

Turn Off Lawn Sprinklers<\/h2>\n

To avoid any costly setbacks during the painting process, make sure that your lawn sprinklers, if you have them, are fully disabled for the duration of the project.<\/p>\n
