Porch Painting and Restoration in the Pittsburgh South Hills Area<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We recently completed a porch painting and restoration project for a home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. A porch painting project such as this has it’s own set of unique challenges and requirements, so we thought we would demonstrate what is involved. Included in this post are photos from the project.<\/p>\n

\n

Prepping the Surfaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It is important to take the extra time and attention to surface preparation before simply applying more paint. Wood can become cracked or rotten, supports can become loose, or there may be issues caused by rodents or vermin, just to mention a few examples of problems that might be encountered. These issues need to be addressed first.<\/p>\n

Weather Concerns<\/h3>\n

Another concern to take into consideration, when it comes to porch painting is weather exposure. Porches can be subject to all types of weather throughout the year.<\/strong> The ongoing exposure to various elements (such as rain, snow or humidity) means that the effort put into preparation will result in a more successful job in the long run.<\/p>\n

Porch Ceiling Painting<\/h3>\n

It was covered with mold before we tackled the project.<\/p>\n

We power washed the entire ceiling, scraped it, then used an anti-mold additive in the paint.<\/p>\n

Here you can see the final result of the porch ceiling, after our work was finished.<\/p>\n

Interior Porch Painting<\/h3>\n

We also painted the interior of the back porch too.<\/p>\n
