Posted on February 8, 2020

We know how important it is to have the right person or company paint your home. After all, this is the space that you spend majority of your time in and you obviously want the job to be done to your expectations. Painting is a more difficult process than it seems and in order to find the people for the job, you need to take the proper steps. Read the tips below to ensure the best possible paint job for your home by finding a good painter.

Tip #1

Ask around. Asks friends, family, neighbors, or coworkers for recommendations on good painting companies. You can also just do a little research online. Check the online portfolios on the websites to make sure you like the company’s work. If you want to feel even more comfortable with who you are hiring, you can ask the painters for a list of references.

Tip #2

Verify what licenses the company requires its painters to have.

Tip #3

Schedule a couple in-person estimates. If the person is not actually seeing the property it will be harder from them to assess exactly what needs to be done, how long it will take, and how much it will cost. Meeting them in person will also allow you to gauge their experience level and if you feel this is the right person or people for the job. You can also ask the company how much experience the team has.

Tip #3

Be clear about your expectations. Always state exactly what you want from the start. Whether this be about the job itself or your price point. It’s best to get it all out in the open right from the first conversation. This helps avoid confusion or disappointment later on in the process.

Tip #4

Ask if there is a guarantee. If the paint job is finished and shortly after you begin noticing bubbling, chipping, dullness, etc. will they come back to fix it?

Tip #5

Don’t rush things. We know how easy it can be to get caught up and just wanting to get a project finished. But in the long run it will pay off if you take your time and make sure you are going with the quality choice.
