This project focused on the refinishing of a large custom-built bedroom cabinet unit, including shelving, drawers, doors, and framing components.
The scope involved a full surface preparation process, including degreasing, detailed sanding to remove the existing sheen, minor surface corrections, and caulking where required to achieve a smooth and uniform finish. A bonding primer was applied to ensure proper adhesion over the existing wood surface, followed by two coats of a high-performance cabinet-grade finish using Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series – Semi-Gloss, designed specifically for cabinetry and furniture applications .
All doors, drawer fronts, shelving, and exposed surfaces were refinished on-site, with careful masking and protection of adjacent areas to prevent dust or overspray. Once completed, all components were reinstalled and aligned to ensure a clean, seamless final result.
This type of project is ideal for homeowners looking to modernize existing built-ins or cabinetry without the cost of full replacement, delivering a durable, factory-like finish with a completely updated look.
