We recently completed a tennis court resurfacing project for the Four Seasons Resort in Pembine, Wisconsin. Tennis court painting and resurfacing projects have their own nuances, we thought we would demonstrate what is involved. Included in this post are photos from our project at the Four Seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prepping Tennis Courts for Paint Application.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The paint on a tennis court is more than how the surface looks. It has specific requirements to meet the rules of the game. Keeping the surface completely flat and free of and ridges, cracks or imperfections is also critically important to the court and the safety of the players.<\/p>\n

Things to get right are:<\/strong>
\n1- Perfect measurements of line painting
\n2- Perfectly straight lines
\n3- Prep and paint that will not easily come up while being heavily used<\/p>\n

The surface needs to be completely clean of dust, rocks, and loose material. Any cracks or depressions in the surface also need to be repaired. With each surface repair the surface needs to remain completely flat.<\/p>\n

In the pictures here you can see our team getting the original surface ready. Including repairing repairing some large cracks that extended the full width of the court. We also used an angle grinder to deal with old and worn out lines.<\/p>\n

Painting Tennis Court Surfaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Tennis courts usually get special and specific paints applied. The paint has a mixture of sand and water to create some grip on the surface and prevent it from getting slippery with water or sweat from players. Common application methods use a squeegee, paint sprayers, or large rollers. Our crew uses a mix of sprayed on paint and rollers to get a perfect finish<\/p>\n
