CertaPro Painters recently completed a full repaint project in Natick, MA. The shed had multiple layers of marine varnish. We used a Festool orbital sander (ETS EC 150/5) with 40-grit paper to remove the original stain. We then applied DEFY Extreme Wood Stain in Light Walnut (two coats of wet-on-wet application). DEFY is a latex based stain – it not only does a great job protecting the wood but maintenance entails power washing and reapplying so it removes the need to re-strip the entire surface.
