\"JJIndianapolis, IN<\/strong> – CertaPro Painters\u00ae of Indianapolis, with the help of Sherwin Williams, announced they are going to be donating their time, expertise, equipment, and paint to help local artisan revitalize some of the over 250 sculptures on his property. Having served customers throughout the greater Indianapolis area for almost 25 years, CertaPro Painters\u00ae of Indianapolis is happy to help give back to the community in a fun and meaningful way.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to use our passion and expertise in painting to help Ernie preserve this local Northside landmark,\u201d JJ Darr, President of CertaPro Painters\u00ae of Indianapolis<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

The opportunity for this community project came about when Ernie Taylor, a veteran in his mid-nineties, needed help repainting his hand-crafted metal sculptures. Taylor grew up during the Great Depression Era and became the first person in his family to graduate high school in hopes of escaping his impoverished lifestyle. Throughout his learning, he focused his attention on welding courses. This led Taylor to a long and successful career as a professional welder. He also served in World War II and was stationed in Italy.<\/p>\n

Taylor is now retired and lives what he calls, \u201ca simple life.\u201d Since 1962, he\u2019s lived off of Ind. 32 and with his collection of handmade metal art pieces. Some of them were crafted into floral arrangements, animals, or even humans\u2013a hobby Taylor and his wife bonded over when he retired nearly 25 years ago.<\/p>\n

The CertaPro Painters\u00ae of Indianapolis and Sherwin Williams teams, along with their clients and the community will be repainting Taylor\u2019s sculptures on September 9th at 10 am at 10985 E St. Rd. 32 Zionsville, IN. They\u2019ll be supplying the necessary materials and everyone in the local community is welcome to come out and help paint these one-of-a-kind art sculptures.<\/p>\n
