Thanks for clicking on the link that brought you here! I can tell you are a savvy consumer because you are researching contractors for your project. I do the same thing. I want whomever I partner with to have integrity, be reliable, and care about my home or business as much as I do. At CertaPro Painters of Fenton-Waterford, we want to be your painting contractor for life, and we do that by earning your trust and delivering what we promise. I also understand that a home or business is one of your most valuable assets, so when it comes to hiring contractors, you want only the best. And that is what we are. So, thanks again for stopping by and giving me the opportunity to introduce myself.
I grew up on the northwest side of Michigan in a small college town. After graduating high school, I attended Michigan State University where I studied biochemistry, and then later hazardous waste management at Ferris State University. In between, I started my family. My wife, Kim, and I moved to Highland, MI, in 2006 with our daughter, Nicole. She was recently married and is living in southwest Michigan, ready to start her own family with my Son-in-Law Andrew. I anxiously await our first grandchild and plan on spoiling them with no remorse.
My professional life has taken many paths and I’ve been fortunate that each new opportunity challenged me and allowed me to grow in ways I never expected. Fresh out of school, I started my career at Dow Corning Corporation (now part of Dow Chemical), where I spent 5 years in R&D. My next job was with Detroit Diesel, Inc. where I worked in manufacturing, operations, and logistics, until they sold off part of the business to a German company called MTU, which was eventually purchased by Rolls Royce. Under the new company, Rolls Royce Power Systems, I transitioned into a senior leadership role with the IT organization, where I worked for the next 10 years. I gained a wealth of experience working for these companies and am grateful for the professional growth they provided, but always felt limited by some of the constraints of the corporate world. So, in the spring of 2019, I had the opportunity to make a major career change that led to opening a CertaPro Painters franchise and I haven’t looked back. Partnering with them has given me the opportunity to build and grow a business on my own terms and has allowed me to jump into something I can truly be passionate about. I know – you’re asking yourself how can someone be so passionate about painting? To be honest, painting was not the attraction. However, CertaPro’s core values align very well with my own: (1) Deliver What You Promise; (2) Respect the Individual; (3) Have Pride in What You Do; and (4) Practice Continuous Improvement. Plus, I really do get a kick out of watching the incredible transformation that a few coats of paint can make when it’s done the right way.
At CertaPro Painters of Fenton-Waterford, we’ve built an awesome team of professionals who take pride in everything we do – professional painters who are skilled tradesman and experts at what they do; experienced project managers with the know-how to juggle chaotic schedules so we exceed customer expectations and meet your schedule; and sales professionals who consult with and educate our clients, rather than just sell painting services. Getting a call from a happy customer makes our day and motivates all of us to make sure it happens on every job we complete. Our goal is to consistently deliver an extraordinary experience and our mission is to elevate the painting industry, one project at a time.
