This year, Sherwin Williams chose a gorgeous grayish green paint color that is on-trend and forward thinking to carry this illustrious title for 2022.<\/p>\n
Evergreen Fog goes perfectly with all of the current styles \u2013 black metal accents, touches of gold and brass, layered whites and off-whites, and rich, warm wood tones.<\/p>\n

Evergreen Fog is said to be a chameleon paint color due to its ability to shift between looking gray and green. This shift in the paint color happens throughout the day due to the varied lighting in a home and the other colors it is surrounded by.<\/p>\n
For example, in cooler-toned or dimmer light, Evergreen Fog can look more grayish. But, with the warmer light of the afternoon, you tend to see Evergreen Fog leaning more towards green.<\/p>\n
Sherwin Williams describes Evergreen Fog as a \u201cstunning statement shade.\u201d But instead of being a bold green shade, the gray in Evergreen Fog gives it a more subtle approach. Evergreen Fog is remarkable in its ability to be both muted and distinctive at the same time.<\/p>\n
Evergreen Fog has an LRV of 30. LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value. It is a scale that provides information about how much light a paint color will reflect back into a room. It also gives information about how light or dark a paint color is.<\/p>\n
The LRV scale goes from 0, which is completely black, to 100, which is completely white. So, as you can see, an LRV of 30 is pretty low on the LRV scale. This means that Evergreen Fog will not reflect very much light back into the room.<\/p>\n
As with all paint colors, this simply means that you will need to have other light sources to support this paint color to make it work in your space.<\/p>\n
If your room has no natural light, and is particularly dark, Evergreen Fog may look dull and dark as well. But, with ample natural or artificial light, Evergreen Fog can look beautiful.<\/p>\n

Evergreen Fog looks amazing with soft, creamy neutrals, warm wood tones, gold metals, and matte black accents.<\/p>\n
When looking to pair Evergreen Fog with other paint colors in a palette, it tends to go well with earthy neutrals, such as warm whites, browns, and oranges.<\/p>\n

Bakelite Gold, Woven Wicker and Uber Umber are three lesser-known paint shades included within this palette but they bring a bold punch. Heavily leaning into warm tones, they bring a bit of balance to the coolness of Evergreen Fog.<\/p>\n
