How much will it cost to paint my home’s interior?

A room-by-room guide to our interior pricing:

Budgeting for an interior painting project can feel overwhelming without a clear starting point. To make that process easier, we’ve put together this room-by-room breakdown of what Bend homeowners can typically expect to pay. Keep in mind that the figures here represent averages — your final quote may be higher or lower depending on the specific conditions of your home.

Here are the key factors that influence the overall cost of an interior painting project:

1. The scope of surfaces being painted plays a major role in determining price. Are we painting just the walls, or will the project also include trim, doors, baseboards, and crown molding? Each surface adds to the overall scope and is priced accordingly.
2. Surface condition affects preparation time and cost. Walls or ceilings with dings, holes, or damage require additional labor to fill, sand, and smooth before paint can be applied. In Bend, large sheetrock repairs fall outside standard prep and will be reflected in your quote accordingly.
3. Color change requirements can add coats. We default to 2 coats of paint for walls, ceilings, and trim surfaces on most projects. However, dramatic color shifts, such as going from red to white, typically require a primer coat before painting to achieve a clean, even result.
4. One thing that won’t affect your price is access to our in-home color consultation. Once you choose us as your painter, we’ll help you select colors that complement your existing furnishings and space, at no additional charge.

The room-by-room prices below are based on painting walls, ceilings, trim, and doors with 2 coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere. Prices may vary depending on the total number of rooms and surfaces included in your project.

Conditions Associated With This Pricing Guide

* This is based on 9′ Ceilings.
Ceilings and Walls over 9′ High would be priced as follows:
10′ Ceilings: An additional 15%
14′ Ceilings: An additional 30%
18′ Ceilings: An additional 40%

Wall, ceiling, and trim for surfaces (doors, baseboards, crown molding) prices are based on 2 coats of paint.

Mid-grade paint such as Sherwin Williams Cashmere. Choosing a decent paint matters, and will almost always save you money.

Each room has an approx. $150 set up charge for covering and protecting furniture, floors, moving furniture, removal of switch plates, etc.
