Historic DeKalb Courthouse

Decatur, Georgia

We were honored to have been chosen by the Dekalb historic society to paint the Historic Dekalb County Courthouse. Built in the late 1800s, this courthouse was used by DeKalb County until 1967. Located in Decatur, Georgia just minutes away from the city of Atlanta, the building is known as the crown jewel of the city of Decatur. The DeKalb County Courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and was honored by Governor Jimmy Carter through a State of Georgia Proclamation. It was the third National Register listing in the Metropolitan Atlanta area. Certapro Painters of Atlanta/Decatur was chosen to paint the exterior of the building, which was 25 years since the last time it was painted. The Dekalb Historic Society chose a high-end paint for durability and a premium finish for the entrance hardwood doors. We also painted areas in the interior such as the grand foyer, main entrance, stairwell, basement, and the main ballroom, which is now used as an event venue that holds weddings.
