Townhome Complex Renovation

Atlanta, Georgia

When the consultants from CertaPro Painters reviewed this townhome property in downtown Atlanta they found that many of the arches of the front awnings as well as the bay windows were constructed with interior grade medium density fiberboard(mdf). Although this material is typically fine for interior baseboards and trim, it swells and rots when exposed to moisture and exterior humidity. CertaPro Painters replaced dozens of rotten mdf arches throughout the property and rebuilt 8 bay windows with cementitious fiberboard, which will never rot. The community of 48 townhomes received hundreds of other repairs before getting a professional CertaPro Painters repaint. It was critical to use elastomeric sealants instead of the industry standard painters caulk to help keep moisture problems and associated rot from recurring in the future.
